JOB DESCRIPTION
Provide students with valid standards/skills based curriculum and training that is aligned to NLPS, leading to the opportunity for relevant industry recognized certifications and earned dual credit hours through a partnering post-secondary institution. Actively participate in our Professional Learning Community, adhering to our building mission and vision, as well as the district strategic plan. This includes but is not limited to attending regular team meetings, collecting and analyzing data, reflecting on practices in light of continuous improvement, among other building level collective commitments and district level goals. Actively develop a rapport with and demonstrate professionalism with high school students, parents, staff, and the community Work with school administration, industry experts, and local stakeholders in developing high quality, equitable, and hands-on projects and work-based learning experiences. Flexibility and the ability to address situations as they arise. Prepare all students with various learning styles and abilities from diverse backgrounds to be successful and productive in a changing global society. Make modifications to lessons based on knowledge of each student's IEP and 504 plan. Observe and evaluate student performance and development. Assign and grade class work, homework, tests, and assignments. Adjust lessons based on differentiated instruction to meet the needs of all learners. Maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development. Use effective classroom and shop management skills and practices while conducting daily classroom activities for junior and senior students in a multi-period format. Work with our work-based learning coordinator to coordinate opportunities for students such as job shadowing, on-site visits, internships, guest speakers, and clinical work experiences and a framework for evaluating those experiences. Maintain a safe, orderly, and welcoming class and shop environment that promotes student learning. Facilitate an effective advisory committee for the program that meets minimally twice a year. Provide and keep all needed documentation and records for reporting purposes as requested by the CTE director or liaison. Adhere to School Board, Corporation, and Building policies and procedures. Other duties as assigned by administration.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Valid Teaching License in Health Education with an RN License -or- the ability to obtain a Workplace Specialist which needs: 5000 clock hours (2.5 years) in the past five years in the related industry RN qualifications or the ability to obtain prefered Ability to qualify for dual-credit instructor credentials preferred Strong written, verbal, and technical skills
