Income and Work Support Coach Indianapolis Urban League - 3.8 Indianapolis, IN Job Details Full-time From $44,000 a year 17 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Paid time off Vision insurance Life insurance Retirement plan Qualifications Training program Foreign language proficiency Basic math Ability to follow instructions Bachelor of Arts Full Job Description Overview The Income and Support Coach will provide coaching services to New Beginnings and Training Works Program participants to identify and address barriers preventing participants from securing and retaining employment, or earning an industry-recognized training credential. Provides intensive wrap around services provided to address employment and housing barriers, transportation, public assistance, childcare, child reunification, convictions, and food insecurities. Makes referrals for financial literacy, addictions counseling, shelters and temporary housing, driver's license reinstatements, expungements, securing healthcare insurance, and general health/mental health services. The Income and Support Coach will assist New Beginnings participants with developing and updating an Individualized Professional Plan (IPP) to identify and address employment barriers, in addition to outlining the needs, goals and outcomes of the participant. Tracks all supportive service and outcomes provided to the program participant in multiple client tracking databases. The Income and Support Coach will also conduct monthly contact attempts to ensure a sufficient level of program engagement is met. The Income and Support Coach will also conduct home visits as needed to ensure active engagement of program participant(s), including wellness checks (if applicable). Will develop partnerships with local programs and agencies to improve the program participant's economic success and stability.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned. § Communicates with program participants via email and/or telephone about program compliance and supportive services requested/provided; § Collects required verification documentation from New Beginnings Program participants within first 3-days of class; § Confirms program compliance for participants interested in enrolling in IUL Training Works Program and provides honest feedback on participants ability to successfully complete training based on their IPP; § Provides intense case management and coaching of active New Beginnings Program completers; § Assists participants with developing short and long-term goals, and updating Individual Professional Plans (IPP) monthly; § Enters supportive services, contact attempts, etc. into Efforts-to-Outcomes (ETO) database; § Works closely with Financial Coach to confirm participants completion of budget, access to credit reports, and additional financial literacy activities; § Works closely with IUL Training Works team to confirm training enrollment, completion and credential attainment; § Works closely with Career Coaches to confirm participants job placement and retention when requesting specific supportive services (ex.: housing assistance); § Conducts home visits and requests wellness checks with appropriate authorities when needed; § Works closely with other IUL Departments and programs to increase awareness or provide a service and/or assistance (ex.: budgeting, expungements, etc.); § Assists with monthly facilitation of New Beginnings Program; § Attend workshops, seminars or conferences annually to further enhance skills, knowledge and capacity as a Workforce Development Professional; and § Carry out other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) preferred from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Community Health Worker (CHW) certification desired.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Knowledge of Spanish desirable but not required.
READING/COMPREHENSION SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to write correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one, small group and large group situations to customers and clients.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
