Job Description

This internship will be project based with main location at South Bend with opportunities in Elkhart as well. Although duties will vary, the Ivy+ Career Link team is looking for a student who will complete typical duties of the position.

Pay Rate:
$15.00 per hour
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist in projects to increase department outreach to current and future students, alumni, faculty, staff and employers.
  • Support marketing campaign- planning and execution.
Copying:
Write copy for social media posts, promotional emails, and other marketing collateral.
  • Filing.
  • Assist in the creation of written, video, and image content.
  • Take part in formal and informal training opportunities.
  • Manage Engagement Database.
  • Measure and report the results of marketing and outreach initiatives.
  • Provide office support.
  • Engage in student outreach.
  • Complete special projects as assigned.
Marketing Intern Qualifications /
Skills:
  • Understanding of basic marketing principles
  • Familiarity with major social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, etc.)
  • Creative problem-solving skills
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently.
  • Comfortable with multitasking in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
General Qualifications:
  • Completed FAFSA on file demonstrating financial need.
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Be able to communicate well orally and work well with diverse student populations
  • Maintains enrollment for at least 1 credit hour in eligible courses.
  • Maintain an aid-eligible Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) status
  • Student must have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or greater.
  • Projects positive image for Ivy Tech Community College.
  • Display a professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Must be dependable, responsible and organized.
  • Must work cooperatively with others and accept direction from supervisors.
  • Proficient with the use of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
  • Must be able to practice confidentiality in all aspects of work.
  • Must have excellent customer service skills.
  • Confidentiality must be maintained and followed along with FERPA regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Evaluations are performed at the end of each award year. Federal Work Study employees are considered for pay increases after each full year of employment.
