Job Description

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION
The Career Navigator provides employment services and intensive case management to individuals receiving Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and/or Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) through the Social Security Administration's Ticket to Work Program. This position supports participants in achieving competitive, integrated employment aligned with their individual vocational goals. The Career Navigator works closely with workforce partners, employers, and community organizations to remove barriers to employment and promote long-term success in the workforce.

Hays, Topeka, Lawrence, Junction City
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide individualized career guidance, job placement assistance, and ongoing case management to Ticket to Work participants (ages 18-65). Develop Individual Employment Plans (IEPs) and maintain accurate participant records in KANSASWORKS.com and other required systems. Maintain required participant contact, including monthly and quarterly follow-up, to ensure progress toward employment goals. Support participants in obtaining and maintaining employment that meets Ticket to Work program benchmarks. Conduct community outreach to recruit and enroll eligible Ticket to Work participants. Coordinate referrals to WIOA, Wagner-Peyser, benefits planning services, and community partner programs. Engage employers interested in hiring individuals with disabilities and promote inclusive employment practices. Train workforce center staff on Ticket to Work eligibility, referral processes, and program requirements. Prepare, track, and submit required program, outreach, and expenditure reports. Obtain Work Incentives Counseling certification within 18 months of hire. Perform other duties as assigned to support program goals.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in human services, workforce development, or a related field preferred; relevant experience may substitute for formal education. Experience providing employment services, case management, or working with individuals with disabilities preferred Knowledge of federal workforce programs and disability employment initiatives. Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams). Valid driver's license and ability to travel within the WorkforceONE service area.
