MHP/MHS Louisiana Empowerment Baton Rouge, LA Job Details Part-time $20 - $27 an hour 12 hours ago Qualifications Driver's License Full Job Description We are seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our team as Mental Health Professionals (MHP) or Mental Health Specialists (MHS) . These roles provide essential community-based services including Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR) . You will work directly with children, adolescents, and adults in their homes, schools, or community settings to promote psychiatric stability, daily living skills, and emotional regulation.
Key Responsibilities Direct Service Delivery:
Provide face-to-face interventions (PSR and CPST) aimed at eliminating functional deficits and restoring daily living skills.
Treatment Planning:
Assist in developing and implementing person-centered treatment plans under the supervision of an LMHP.
Clinical Documentation:
Maintain accurate, timely, and high-quality progress notes in compliance with Medicaid and agency standards (typically within 24-48 hours of service).
Crisis Intervention:
Support clients in identifying "triggers" and utilizing de-escalation techniques to avoid functional impairment or hospitalization.
Coordination of Care:
Act as a liaison between the client, family, schools, and other community resources to ensure a holistic approach to recovery.
Caseload Management:
Maintain a consistent schedule of billable hours and attend weekly clinical supervision and staff meetings.
Qualifications & Requirements Education:
Master's or Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or Sociology.
Background Check:
Must pass a criminal background check (LSP), sex offender registry check, and TB test.
Transportation:
Valid Driver's License, reliable vehicle, and active auto insurance are required for community travel.
Certifications:
Must obtain/maintain CPR, First Aid, and LDH-approved basic clinical competency training. Preferred Skills Knowledge of DSM-V criteria and evidence-based interventions. Experience with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems. Strong verbal and written communication skills for professional documentation. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings or weekends.
