The Recovery Support Specialist is responsible for the health, safety and quality of life of individuals in a residential setting through advocacy, teaching and service planning, individual and group counseling. This position is full-time; 36 hours per week.
Schedule:
Mon/Tues/Friday 2-10pm, Saturday 9am-9pm. What you'll do: Supervise and/or participate with individuals, based on their needs in self-help skills, activities of daily living, socialization, leisure time and community integration. Implement, teach and assist individuals with treatment plan goals and objective on a consistent basis. Assist individuals in scheduling routine and preventative medical appointments, obtain and disseminate all reports to appropriate team members. Attend all required trainings within prescribed timelines. Transport individuals in agency vehicle as needed. Other duties as assigned. What you'll need:
Education:
High School Diploma/GED equivalent required Bachelor's Degree and/or CADAC preferred.
Experience:
A minimum of one year full-time substance abuse counseling experience. If in recovery, must have a minimum of two years current continuous sobriety.
Skills/Other:
Must have a Massachusetts driver's license. Must have the ability to complete CPR/First Aid certification upon hire.
