  • Career Advisor is funded by the Reemployment Services and Eligibility Assessment (RESEA) programs to provide services to Career Center customers.
The RESEA Specialist conducts all aspects of the RESEA program and ensures the timely completion of requirements. This position is responsible for meeting with the assigned customer and accurately completing all formal certification of applicants and documentation following appropriate guidelines as required by the RESEA program and other state and federal grants.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
? Conducts RESEA information sessions, individual services, and interviews and ensures that all documented results are entered into the database (Currently MOSES system) ? Conduct preliminary initials RESEA meetings, sets up interim services, complete final RESEA review, verify all documentation and sets up future service for assigned customers. ? Conduct standard group activities such as Career Center Seminar, as well as with other partner and community events to inform customers about career center services ? Assist in the Resource and UI (Unemployment Insurance) areas as needed. ? Assist customers in identifying barriers to employment to improve marketability and promote career center services to customers who would benefit from one-on-one services. ? Understand local labor market trends, identifying potential employment opportunities, or enrolled services needs. ? Provides career coaching, resume review and assessment to assist customers in identifying reemployment needs. ? Actively engage with customers in job search activities including resume assistance, interview preparation and provide potential job referrals ? Collects and enters customer?s information, services, and courses of action in the MOSES database and assists with reports and file maintenance ? Maintain thoroughness and accuracy in written case files, MOSES system, and documentation so that program and contractual requirements are met ? Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS
? Prior experience in Workforce Development, reemployment services or experience and/or training involving career counseling, case management, recruitment, or counseling; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. ? Experience in career center services, career development services to unemployed/underemployed participants is highly desired. ? Experience in working with diverse populations. ? Experience in public speaking and presentations. ? Must possess and demonstrate excellent ?

Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written. Multi-lingual abilities are highly desired especially in Spanish or Portuguese ? Ability to document and maintain records in data base as well as paper files accurately and in a timely manner is required. ? Experience with building community partnerships and relationships among stakeholders is desired. ? Proven proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required; experience with database and report management is desired.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
? Must be able to work in one or both career centers, and other assigned locations in the region. ? Must be able to travel throughout the region for business purposes. ? Must perform additional work as assigned.
