Director of Employment Services Job Overview:
Participate as a member of the interdisciplinary team, representing the interest and needs of the individuals served in securing community-based employment through sourcing worksites and volunteer opportunities, assessing and meeting with individuals for skills and desired placements, maintaining all paperwork and resumes, and applying individuals for jobs. Provide assistance to adults with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities in the implementation of goals/objectives, daily programs, ADL's, and community participation. Ensure programmatic planning and implementation of services as it relates to Department of Developmental Services (DDS) regulations. Oversee CBDS and SE individuals, and collaborate with outside agencies, residential programs, families and other service providers.
Essential Functions of Position:
Assist the individuals to identify employment opportunities that meet their interests and abilities to promote successful placement. Meet with individuals on a regular basis and track the requests of individuals on where they would like to apply for jobs. Perform ongoing assessments to determine vocational aptitudes, interests, abilities and suitability of employment placements. Assist with job coaching at community worksites, both during Grow business hours and outside of traditional business hours (nights/weekends), and transport individuals to and from worksites and their residences as needed to ensure smooth daily operations. Assist with small group implementation during programming on work-related skills, both in planning, grouping, and service delivery. This includes developing and providing in-house and community based work preparedness training for individuals. Apply individuals for jobs in the community and follow up with those applications on a weekly basis. Track all applications submitted and report them to the Director of Supported Employment on a weekly basis. Schedule and track all interviews, including each end result, and report them to the Director of Supported Employment on a weekly basis. Transport individuals to and from interviews, job shadows, volunteer sites, etc. using work-provided vehicles. This may include nights and weekends, depending on the employer's interview availability. Work with CBDS to identify volunteer sites and other meaningful work-related experiences both during programming and out in the community. This includes working with CBDS in identifying community outings to support job shadowing, resume drop-offs, workplace tours, etc. Keep all resumes for individuals up to date. Assist with job coaching out at community worksites, and transport individuals to and from worksites and their residences, as needed, to ensure smooth daily operations. This may include nights and weekends as a backup for other Job Coaches / Employment Specialists. ​​Assist the Supported Employment team with all necessary paperwork, documentation, billing, etc. as needed. Act as an advocate for the individuals served. Assists and attends to the personal care needs of people served as needed. Perform duties consistent with agency/program policies, procedures and mission statements. Maintain current First Aid, CPR and other required training.
QUALIFICATIONS

EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or GED. At least two (2) years of experience working with individuals with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities. Associate's/Bachelor's degree in human services or related field preferred. Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a culturally diverse population of individuals, managers, customers and general public.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Require valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. Current First Aid, CPR and Crisis Intervention certificates or be able to obtain these within thirty (30) days of hire. Pass Criminal Background Check (CORI).
