Job Description
Overview The Career Services Staff Associate is interim position will provide individualized career counseling and coaching to help students explore career options, clarify goals, and develop actionable career plans aligned with their academic and professional aspirations. This role will also interface and work effectively with students, faculty, staff, alumni and employers, as well as provide walk-in office coverage, administration of career-related workshops, presentations and programs. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Education, Counseling, Human Resources, Psychology, Business, or a related field. 1 year of experience in student services, advising, career counseling, workforce development, or a related support role OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Basic knowledge of resume writing, interviewing skills, and career exploration processes.
- Ability to provide one-on-one student support in a professional and culturally responsive manner.
- Strong presentation and facilitation skills for delivering workshops and classroom sessions.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and follow established policies and procedures.
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in student development.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team-oriented environment.
- Willingness to learn career-related tools, assessment platforms, and resource management systems.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Experience developing and delivering career readiness workshops, classroom presentations, and employer‑focused programming.
- Ability to analyze program data, student feedback, and assessment results to recommend program improvements.
- Familiarity with career competency frameworks, such as the NACE Career Readiness Competencies.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and follow established policies and procedures.
- Willingness to learn career-related tools, assessment platforms, and resource management systems.
- Experience partnering with faculty, department chairs, student support offices, and academic units to embed career development into courses or co‑curricular initiatives.
