Baltimore MD This is a full-time position, Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm, in office. The annual salary range is $43,888 - $58,656. Position Summary The Manager of Job Readiness Programs and Instruction oversees programs designed to prepare individuals who are blind or visually impaired for successful employment and independent living. This position manages vocational training, blindness skills instruction, and job readiness initiatives while developing curriculum, and ensuring program effectiveness. The Manager collaborates with employers, community partners, and rehabilitation professionals to support participant success, promote workplace readiness, and achieve organizational goals. Key Responsibilities Deliver Job Readiness programs that prepare individuals who are blind for competitive integrated employment Knowledgeable in non-visual skills based and the ability to coordinate skill assessments and training based on consumer needs Partner with Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors to recruit students and develop training curriculum Design, Facilitate, and report on monthly Job Readiness seminars focused on networking, setting and tracking goals, and professional skill development Coach blind individuals in resume writing, job search techniques, interview preparation, and workplace communication skills Establish relationships with BISM leadership, employers, and community partners to support workforce development initiatives Prepare monthly reports and evaluations to monitor consumer engagement, progress, and employment outcomes Develop tracking systems and follow-up processes to improve participant engagement and development after program completion Externally promotes the organization through outreach events, workshops, and presentations to foster workforce development opportunities for individuals who are blind Provide blindness counseling to students and families. Work closely with Youth and Senior training programs as needed.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, Human Services, Social Work, Education, Workforce Development, or related field required. Or equivalent experience. Requires education or learning beyond high school which was acquired by a prolonged course of specialized non-visual training. Must be proficient in alternative skills of blindness. Experience facilitating Training and seminar development. Knowledge of blindness and low vision rehabilitation services, vocational training, and employment readiness programming. Familiarity with ADA requirements, accessibility standards, and employment laws related to individuals with disabilities. Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills. Ability to work collaboratively with diverse populations and external partners. Practice with employer engagement and community partnership development.
