Supported Employment Specialist

As an Employment Specialist at Life Skills Centers, Inc., you will play a vital role in helping individuals achieve their employment goals. Located in a supportive environment, you will assist clients in developing the skills necessary for successful job placement, work readiness, and community involvement. Responsibilities Assess clients' skills and interests to develop personalized employment plans. Provide training and support in job search techniques, resume writing, and interviewing skills. Collaborate with local employers to identify job opportunities suitable for clients. Mentor clients throughout the employment process to ensure their success and satisfaction. Educate clients about their rights under employment labor laws and assist them in navigating workplace challenges. Facilitate workshops on topics such as workplace etiquette, communication skills, and professional development. Requirements High School Diploma (Associates Degree with 2 years related experience, preferred). Experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities in an employment setting. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective client interaction. Ability to provide mentorship and support to diverse populations. Will be required to occasionally drive clients to appointments, job interviews, or job locations. Will be required on occasions to work nights and/or weekends within a flexible 40 hour per week schedule. Qualifying Applicants must provide the following: High School Diploma or equivalent (GED), valid Michigan Driver's License with good driving record, pass a physical, 60lb lift test, drug screen and TB test. Candidate must have good moral character, including a clear criminal background check and ability to successfully complete all initial orientation and agency training within the timelines specified.
