Position Summary
The ACE Job Coach is responsible for supporting students with special needs in a community-based, paid employment setting at MillerKnoll. This position provides direct job coaching to student workers, develops workplace skills and employment readiness, and ensures the accurate and efficient completion of production assignments. The role serves as the primary liaison between MillerKnoll staff and the ACE program, managing partner communications, worker scheduling across multiple job sites, and day-to-day operations of the work group. The ACE Job Coach plays a vital role in bridging education and employment for students, while maintaining the high production standards required by MillerKnoll.
Essential Job Functions
Provides direct job coaching to student workers with special needs, teaching and reinforcing essential workplace competencies including punctuality, break management, production expectations, professional conduct, and self-advocacy in a paid employment environment.
Serves as the primary MillerKnoll ACE Lead, functioning as the liaison between MillerKnoll personnel and the ACE program; manages work group operations, communicates with partner agency staff (including Muskegon ISD, Preferred Living Supports, and Adecco), and makes operational decisions regarding the accumulation and distribution of work for ACE.
Performs quality control on all parts kits assembled by ACE workers, verifying accuracy and applying the correct seal prior to submission for use at MillerKnoll.
Manages daily production balance by building kits to meet current demands and ensuring all required raw materials are set up and available throughout the workday.
Collaborates with classroom teachers to identify, vet and place appropriate student workers at MillerKnoll ACE.
Tracks production rates and errors, maintains accurate records, and prepares written production reports to document worker performance and program outcomes.
Communicates with parents and families regarding student attendance, participation, and workplace progress.
Creates and maintains worker schedules across multiple job sites in coordination with teachers, agency partners, and site supervisors.
Monitors and enforces all required safety and dress code standards at job sites, including PPE requirements and site-specific appearance guidelines.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required. Experience working with individuals with special needs in a supported employment, educational, or related setting preferred. Prior experience in a production or manufacturing environment, or demonstrated familiarity with production systems and quality control processes preferred. Required Skills & Abilities

Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize effectively for the demands of a manufacturing production environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with MillerKnoll personnel, agency partners, teachers, parents, and student workers.
Meticulous attention to detail, including accuracy in tracking part numbers, kit numbers, and material components.
Ability to achieve production expectations with a high degree of independence and self-direction.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with external agency partners (e.g., Muskegon ISD, Preferred Living Supports, Adecco) and to exercise professional leadership in multi-stakeholder settings.
Capacity to address and resolve workplace challenges constructively, including situations requiring direct feedback or supervisory intervention, while maintaining respectful and service-oriented relationships with all parties.
Physical & Environmental Requirements
Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds (raw materials for production) with or without mechanical assistance.
Must be able to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods in a production environment.
Moderate noise level is typical in this work environment.
Must wear personal protective equipment as required, including steel-toed footwear and safety glasses. Compensation & Employment Details

Range of $28.15•33.12 commensurate with experience
