Position Title Trade Adjustment Assistance Career Coach - Great Lakes Bay Michigan Works! POSITION SUMMARY
: Delta College, serves as the region's leader in workforce training, has a team of Trade Adjustment Assistance Career Coaches placed at the Great Lakes Bay Michigan Works! offices. This individual will assist clients in becoming trade adjustment assistance (TAA) eligible and once certified, the career coach will assist in managing training enrollment and supportive services as the client purses a path toward employment. This role will be assigned to work from a Michigan Works! service center in one of the Bay, Midland or Saginaw counties. This is a grant funded position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING
: Knowledgeable of TAA program specifications and continuous updating of TAA, other related programs Assist clients in making application for program certifications, or eligibility Interpret / implement federal program guidelines for TAA Conduct assessments, provide career and educational counseling Complete timely / accurate paperwork Coordination with other programs/grants; including co-enrollment as required Enter case notes on the State of Michigan (SOM) management information system within 48 hours Monitor enrollment and outcomes of TAA participants Manage a caseload of individuals in varying aspects of the TAA program Assist with TAA Worker Benefit Orientations (WBO) and Rapid Response Meetings as needed Maintain compliance with unemployment registrations/regulations Knowledgeable of Employment Services job requirements, and provide coverage assistance to the Employment Services (ES) team as required Coordinate with manager for services such as interpreters/translators Maintain up to date knowledge on the ES complaint system and assist job seekers with resources and follow up. Implement and/or provide support with Michigan Works! events and programs as assigned Other Employment Services activities may be assigned/asked to be covered as needed Required Qualifications Associate's Degree Evidence of intermediate skill level in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Additional Experiences Considered Bachelor's Degree 2 or more years experience working with job seekers Application Deadline Position will remain open until filled.
