JOB SUMMARY
To provide coordination and program support for teaching and supporting students in reading, writing, math, and social/emotional skills.
MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY
Provide Coordination to Staff, Students and Families Set up, hire, maintain and coordinate program duties to meet the needs of students related to Targeted Services and Summer Credit Recovery. Coordinate communication with teachers and families regarding targeted services by following the district timelines for summer and school year programming. Collaborate with teachers individually to identify the academic needs of students, to set learning goals and targets, and to problem solve with teachers to develop best practices for continuous academic growth of students in their area of need. Meet regularly with the targeted services teachers to plan instruction that correlates with the individual student's needs or as requested by the classroom teacher. Select, train, supervise, support, and evaluate staff based on Targeted Service Program needs. Plan activities and provide leadership in the development, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of targeted service programs. Manage targeted service records including program attendance and other reported data. Review annual budget with supervisor and business manager. Provide daily coordination and support to teachers based on needs of the targeted service program. Provide Resources & Consultation to Classroom Teachers Assist teachers with the collection of data, analysis of data results and supports the sharing of findings with all staff. Consult teachers with any behavioral supports as needed Perform other duties and responsibilities related to Targeted Services as assigned by supervisor. Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws Prepare necessary information for the completion of local,state and federal reports as assigned Remain up to date with trends and developments in instruction, policy, and other legal educational issues
CRITICAL SKILLS/EXPERTISE
Physical Involvement:
Vitality to accomplish numerous tasks and processes. Extended periods of standing when leading an activity. Extended periods of sitting during meetings and deskwork. Bending, stooping or sitting on the floor to perform classroom activities or to provide one to one assistance. Repetitive motion keyboarding activities. Ability to travel between buildings, within the buildings and work area. May lift equipment or supplies typically not to exceed 25 pounds.
Mental Involvement:
Ability to organize and prioritize work assignments. Interpersonal and conflict resolution skills needed in dealing with a variety of stakeholders. Taking initiative to explore new activities and ideas to enhance student learning. Respond to multiple and sometimes simultaneous requests. Provide accurate and detailed student progress reports on a regular basis.
Working Conditions:
Indoor setting in a building with little exposure to extreme weather conditions. Will involve travel to all district buildings.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Must possess a current Teacher license. Must possess a Master's Degree related to an education field. Minnesota Administrative License preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of five years successful classroom teaching experience preferred. Prior experience in program coordination or in a leadership role.
Special Knowledge or Skills:
Position requires a strong work ethic, organizational skills and time management. Strong leadership and collaboration skills. Ability to lead and plan professional development programming. Flexibility and a willingness to undertake a variety of tasks, sometimes at the direction of more than one person. Ability to supervise and lead targeted services staff.
Equipment, Machines, Tools, Electronic Devices, Software:
Operate computer, printer, photocopy machine, fax machine and other electronic or technological equipment required for the specific position. Competency in data platforms or a willingness to learn a variety of platforms to facilitate student identification. Proficient in various software applications. Proficient in phone systems.
