Position Summary Information Responsibilities Provide one-on-one coaching to students to support academic success, goal setting, and personal development; Facilitate workshops on student success topics, which include study skills and wellness, held throughout the year; Work closely with Student Success Center team members to monitor S.O.S. (DSU's early alert system) referrals to proactively identify, track, and monitor at-risk students ensuring quality assistance to students; Work collaboratively with other offices and departments across campus to promote S.O.S and proactively identify, track, and monitor at-risk students ensuring quality assistance to students; Assist students in developing study skills, time management strategies, and academic plans; Initiate, plan and implement strategies to improve student success and increase retention and graduation rates; Work closely with summer orientation to assist students in transitioning to college; Follow guidelines with Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA) as they pertain to the students' rights to privacy and accuracy and retention of academic records; Refer at-risk students to other campus resources as needed; Work with campus partners to stay abreast of opportunities in student success and student support services; and, Any other duties as assigned related to student success and Destination Graduation. Qualifications Bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred (Education, Social Work, Counseling, Student Affairs, or related field); Experience in working with college students, advising, coaching, or mentoring; Proficient in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel; with Banner and social media experience preferred; Demonstrated record of: o Strong leadership, interpersonal and oral/written communication skills with ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a changing, evolving department; o Integrity and commitment to developing and maintaining the highest academic standards and working with a diverse population of students, faculty and staff; o Plan and manage time wisely, be detail-oriented and motivated to take initiative. Must be a United States citizen or have legal authorization to work in the United States. Salary Commensurate with experience, qualifications, and university's resources. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree required. Demonstrated record of: Strong leadership, interpersonal and oral/written communication skills with ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a changing, evolving department. Integrity and commitment to developing and maintaining the highest academic standards and working with a diverse population of students, faculty and staff. Plan and budget time wisely, be detail-oriented and motivated to take initiative. Must be a United States citizen or have legal authorization to work in the United States. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in social work/human services, Counseling, or related field preferred. Experience in working with academic/career coaching for at-risk students, grants' management/ implementation, event planning; with experience in higher education preferred.
