Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for supporting and providing one-on-one training and supervision for clients receiving vocational services. These clients may have developmental disabilities, physical disabilities and/or mental health diagnoses. Provides job readiness training, on-the-job support to help them learn skills, and adjust to the workplace. In conjunction with the Job Coach Manager, this position is a liaison between the client and their employment setting to help clients have fulfilling and satisfying work experiences and careers. As clients become more proficient at their job, the job coach spends less time on-site, but continues to monitor and offer support when needed. The Job Coach provides and maintains a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for clients while following the organization's policies and procedures. Provides clients with assistance and supervision needed to perform daily living tasks, and/or vocational skills. Observes, reports, and documents client physical conditions, skill training, and behaviors. May be pulled or crossover to other work locations as needed.REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
The Job Coach is directly responsible to the Job Coach Manager.MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING
A. Assists with the job analysis and position for each client. B. Provides training for each client and this is as follows, but is not limited to: 1. Provides one-on-one training in the work environment until the trainee proficiently performs all aspects of the job to the employer's satisfaction. 2. Orientates clients to a working environment and industry with consumers and the general public. 3. Performs trouble shooting with on-the-job problems. 4. May provide transportation for clients to supported work sites, assuring workers arrive safely and on time at designated place. C. Supervises individuals, with varying needs, in community-based jobs. D. Gather, prepare, and/or present necessary information for the Personal Support Plan (PSP) team members. In conjunction with the Supportive Employment Manager, develop and implement individual training objectives, service objectives, and individual program plans. Assists in development of vocational goals for the consumers. Records and graphs chart data involving implemented program plans. E. Records client's work, and skills status daily. F. Assists clients to achieve their maximum potential and self-sufficiency. Ensures compliance with corporation policies, procedures, and contractual responsibilities. G. Performs all functions in the safest manner possible, and according to agency (and vocational employer) procedures, assuring the safety of other employees and clients. Resolves or reports safety issues, injury, or potential problems to the most appropriate source for resolution. Encourages and supports clients and other staff to perform tasks safely and reports such to the most appropriate supervisor for action as needed. Ensures clients are safe in their work environment. H. Assists in maintaining vehicles in safe and clean condition at all times. I. Follows the organization's policies and procedures and the established program guidelines and regulations. J. Observes, reports, and documents client daily activities, behaviors, and vocational progress. K. Responds effectively in emergency situations. L. Will be required to participate in, successfully complete, and recertify (as required) in the following trainings: West Mont Annual Training, First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), , Mandt training, and other field related training, as deemed necessary. M. Serves as a representative of the organization, conducting oneself appropriately at all times, in manner, dress, and actions. Interaction with clients, co-workers, supervisors, volunteers, vendors, guests, visitors, employers, and other members of the community, etc. must be in a manner that is friendly, supportive, courteous, respectful, cooperative, and professional. This behavior should promote an atmosphere of teamwork that is consistent with the organization's standards and guidelines to promote positive relations. N. Exposure to sensitive information and situation requires a tactful and trustworthy individual to reserve credibility of the agency, and confidentiality of client information. O. Perform all tasks while striving to maintain the ethical standards which support agency goals in developing and maintaining a culture of excellence in all services provided. P. Will be pulled or crossover to other work locations as needed to meet minimum staffing requirements. Q. Attends required staff meetings. R. Other miscellaneous duties as assigned.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- A valid Montana driver's license and be insurable.
- Past experience in job coaching and working with adults with developmental disabilities preferred.
WORK SCHEDULE
(HOURS): Hours and days may vary; typical hours are 8AM to 4PM (M-F) but there will be a requirement to work different shifts and work areas to complete job functions.Job Type:
