Job Description

The primary location of this position is on-site in Cullowhee, NC. The Administrative Support Associate works in coordination with the Communication Sciences and Disorders Department and the Speech and Hearing Clinic (SHC) Director to manage the clinic's daily operations. This role supports a student-centered learning environment, promotes outreach activities, and fosters positive, ongoing relationships with students, faculty, community partners, and other constituencies. Core responsibilities include scheduling and registering clients, booking rooms, and coordinating outreach activities, as well as maintaining accurate billing and records. The Associate serves as a knowledgeable point of contact for questions related to the clinic and department, and is expected to be well-versed in program policies, procedures, degree requirements, and CHHS guidelines. Additional duties include assisting with supply ordering and account management, supervising both work-study and non-work-study students, and providing broad administrative support to the Clinic Director and clinical supervisors. The Associate is also responsible for maintaining strict confidentiality of all work-related information and materials. Additional duties may be assigned as needed to support students, faculty, staff, and clients. Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required for this Position Knowledge of office administration practices, including billing, record keeping, scheduling, and records management. Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of students, faculty, clients, and community partners. Familiarity with CHHS and CSD departmental policies, procedures, and degree requirements, with the ability to apply them accurately when responding to inquiries. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in handling sensitive information and materials.
