Job Description

Since 2006, Securing Resources for Consumers Inc. has been dedicated to empowering individuals throughout the Durham area. We specialize in providing consistent, person-centered support to individuals with developmental disabilities and/or mental health diagnoses—whether they live with family, in group homes, or other residential settings. As the needs of the individuals we serve continue to evolve, our organization grows alongside them—meeting new challenges with compassion, dedication, and respect. We are currently seeking a knowledgeable and compassionate IPS Benefits Worker to support individuals participating in the Individual Placement and Support - Supported Employment (IPS-SE) program. The IPS Benefits Worker assists individuals with understanding how employment impacts public benefits while promoting informed decision-making, financial independence, and successful community integration. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about helping individuals with behavioral health needs achieve employment and recovery goals. Key Responsibilities Provide benefits counseling and education related to SSI, SSDI, Medicaid, Medicare, SNAP, housing assistance, and other public benefits Assist individuals in understanding how earned income may impact benefits eligibility and financial stability Complete Work Incentive Benefits Analysis (WIBA) reports and maintain accurate documentation Educate individuals on work incentives and available employment supports Collaborate closely with IPS Employment Specialists, clinical staff, employers, and community partners Support individuals with reporting wages and maintaining benefits compliance Assist with goal planning related to employment and self-sufficiency Maintain timely and Medicaid-compliant documentation and records Participate in treatment team meetings and interdisciplinary collaboration Promote person-centered, recovery-oriented, and strengths-based services Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, Rehabilitation Counseling, or related field preferred Experience working with individuals with mental health, substance use, or intellectual/developmental disabilities preferred Knowledge of Social Security benefits, Medicaid, Medicare, and work incentives preferred Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required Must be either a Certified Work Incentives Counselor (CWIC) or a Credentialed Work Incentives Planner-Credentialed (WIP-C CWIP) and have a minimum of a HS diploma or have passed a GED exam. Preferred Experience Experience with IPS Supported Employment services Knowledge of NC Medicaid documentation requirements Experience in completing benefits analysis or vocational support services Familiarity with recovery-oriented and person-centered practices
Pay:
$19.00 - $23.00 per hour
