Job Description
Under general supervision, the Apprenticeship Coordinator is responsible for the development, coordination, and expansion of registered and pre-apprenticeship programs. This position works collaboratively with Pitt County Schools (PCS), business and industry partners, and internal college departments to create seamless career pathways that connect secondary education, postsecondary credentials, and employment. The Coordinator serves as a key liaison between PCC, PCS, and regional employers to support student recruitment, program implementation, compliance, and continuous improvement of apprenticeship. Coordinate the planning, implementation, and evaluation of apprenticeship and pre-apprenticeship programs aligned with regional workforce needs. Collaborate closely with Academic Affairs to align apprenticeship programs with academic curricula, credentials, and credit pathways. Support the development of articulation agreements and dual enrollment pathways connecting Pitt County Schools to PCC apprenticeship programs. Assist with registration, compliance, and reporting requirements related to state and federal apprenticeship standards, as applicable. Serve as the primary point of contact for Pitt County Schools regarding youth apprenticeship, career and technical education (CTE) alignment, and student transitions. Build and maintain strong relationships with business and industry partners, school administrators, counselors, faculty, and workforce staff. Facilitate employer engagement activities including information sessions, advisory meetings, and recruitment events. Participate in regional workforce, education, and economic development initiatives that support apprenticeship expansion. Coordinate recruitment efforts in collaboration with Pitt County Schools, Academic Affairs, and Student Services. Support student onboarding, orientation, and ongoing participation in apprenticeship programs. Monitor student progress and collaborate with faculty, employers, and school partners to address retention and completion challenges. Maintain accurate records related to apprentices, employer partners, and program outcomes. Prepare reports for internal leadership, funding agencies, and external partners. Use data to assess program effectiveness and recommend improvements. Assist with grant-funded initiatives related to apprenticeships.

Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Education, Workforce Development, Business, Public Administration, or a related field from an accredited institution Minimum of two (2) years of experience in workforce development, education, apprenticeship coordination, or employer engagement. Experience working collaboratively across organizations, particularly education and industry partners. Strong organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and data tracking/reporting systems. Preferred Qualifications Experience working within a community college, K-12 school system, or workforce agency. Knowledge of registered apprenticeship models and work-based learning strategies. Experience collaborating with secondary education partners (CTE, counselors, administrators). Familiarity with North Carolina workforce or apprenticeship systems. Grant management or grant-supported program experience.Work Environment:
Office and field-based work; extensive collaboration with internal college departments, external education partners, and business/industry representatives. The role requires the ability to manage multiple priorities, coordinate across organizations, and respond to evolving workforce and educational needs.Physical Demands:
Frequently communicates with students, faculty, school personnel, and employers in person, virtually, and via phone/email. Regularly operates standard office equipment including computers, printers, and presentation tools. May need to move between campus locations, school sites, and employer facilities. Occasionally lifts or carries materials (up to 20 pounds) such as recruitment materials, event supplies, or program documentation. Must be able to travel locally and regionally to attend meetings, site visits, and events. Valid driver's license and ability to operate a vehicleNormal Working Hours:
