The More Than A Job NC Coordinator plays a key role in advancing workforce access initiatives that support students and community members facing employment barriers. By connecting individuals to training, scholarships, and job opportunities, the associate strengthens partnerships with social services, workforce agencies, and nonprofits, while ensuring program compliance and community engagement. This position is based at the Siler City Main Campus with regular travel to campuses and community sites across Lee, Harnett, and Chatham counties. Evening or weekend hours may occasionally be required. This position is time-limited. Continuation of position is contingent upon available funding. Student & Client Success Guide students through enrollment, placement testing, and financial aid basics. Mentor and track participants through training, employment placement, and career advancement. Conduct career assessments and align services to individual needs. Connect students to academic advising, career development, and community resources. Program & Partnership Management Manage the More Than A Job NC partnership. Support scholarship alignment with workforce and student needs. Ensure compliance with state, federal, and local reporting requirements. Represent CCCC in workforce development groups and regional initiatives. Community & Employer Engagement Serve as liaison with DSS, workforce agencies, nonprofits, and employers. Develop outreach and recruitment strategies to increase awareness and participation. Advocate for students while promoting workforce diversity and inclusion. Administrative & Technical Skills Maintain accurate records and reports for grants and program compliance. Provide timely responses to inquiries from students, staff, and community partners. Utilize Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, and student information/learning management systems (Colleague, Lumens, Blackboard, etc.). Required educational background:
Associate degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred in Education, Business, Public Administration, Workforce Development, or a related field. Required kind and number years of work experience: Minimum of two (2) years of experience in workforce development, continuing education, or related postsecondary education leadership. Experience with North Carolina Community College System programs, processes, and funding models preferred. Required knowledge, skills and abilities: Demonstrated leadership in program development, project management, and team supervision. Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in workforce education. Ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and student information systems; experience with Colleague, Lumens, or similar systems is a plus. Excellent computer skills (MS/Google Suite) required; working knowledge of labor market information, local business and industries, and general business concepts.
