School Year Position Purpose:
The Restorative Practices Conference Facilitator provides the most formal type of restorative practice on the continuum. Using a strategic, scripted approach where all of those involved in an incident are guided to make meaning of what has happened, who was affected, and what is needed to make things right, the Restorative Practices Conference Facilitator provides direct support to students and families to improve student learning, reduce disproportionate discipline, and foster safe and supportive school environments. Responsibilities Promote school-wide development of an equitable, accessible, and inclusive school community. Facilitate and support the facilitation of restorative conferencing and mediation for healing when conflict/harm occurs between students, staff, staff and students, families and staff, etc. Assist in developing the re-entry of students returning from a disciplinary event. Collect data to assist in improving programming and outcomes for students. Facilitate community Circle for students, staff, and parents. Assist the Restorative Practices District Facilitator in providing training to district staff. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in human service field (e.g., psychology, education, criminal justice) OR an equivalent combination of education and experience Minimum Two (2) years of demonstrated experience implementing conflict mediation and/or positive youth development in a school or community setting Evidence of effective and culturally responsive work with diverse student and family populations Application Procedures All applications for open Fargo Public Schools positions must be made via www.applitrack.com/fargo/onlineapp. Paper submissions will not be accepted.
