Job Description

Summary of Work Do you have a natural talent for helping others succeed? If you would thrive in a people-focused environment where you can use your computer skills to assist job seekers and connect individuals with valuable resources, we invite you to join our team as an Employment Advisor at the Williston Workforce Center! About the Role As an Employment Advisor, you will play a key role in empowering job seekers by providing personalized support, resources, and guidance to help them secure meaningful employment. Through in-person meetings, phone calls, and email correspondence, you will assess clients' skills, interests, career goals, and areas for development. You will assist them with resume writing, interview preparation, navigating the JobsND.com website, and filing for unemployment insurance if needed. Additionally, you will provide labor market insights, connect clients to training opportunities, and direct them to additional services that can aid in their job search success. Key Responsibilities Assist customers in using Workforce Center resources, self-help tools, and the JobsND.com website for job searches, career development, and unemployment claims. Provide job seekers with labor market insights, in-demand occupations, required skills, and guidance on resumes, job applications, and interviews. Conduct orientations on Workforce Center services, assess eligibility for workforce programs, and assist with applications. Offer follow-up services to track client progress and provide ongoing support. Promote events, job openings, and employer spotlights on social media using Canva for flyers and content. Travel within Divide, Williams, and McKenzie Counties for outreach activities (overnight travel is typically not required). Who We're Looking For The ideal candidate finds joy in helping others succeed and working in-person in a collaborative and fun team environment. We're looking for someone who excels at creating a supportive and inclusive environment where all clients can feel valued and understood, regardless of their background, skillset, experiences, and perspectives. You must be customer service driven, a strong communicator, comfortable working in Microsoft Products to include Word, Excel and Outlook, eager to lend a helping hand and working one-on-one with clients, find enjoyment in problem-solving to meet individual needs, and providing comprehensive employment support. Prior experience in teaching, career counseling, human resources, or a related field is beneficial but we welcome anyone who can demonstrate relevant experience and/or education, is self-motivated, and finds reward in helping others succeed to apply. Minimum Qualifications To be considered for this position, you must have the following experience/education combination: a bachelor's degree in a related field plus at least two (2) years of related work experience OR at least six (6) years of related work experience and a high school diploma or equivalent Preferred Qualifications The preferred candidate will be able to demonstrate a strong skillset in using Microsoft Office products, working knowledge of promoting through social media and/or creating flyers using Canva, prior experience providing customer service to a diverse population, and excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
