This advanced-level position is responsible for leading job development, employer engagement, and employment placement activities for individuals with disabilities and other barriers to employment. The Senior Job Developer II serves as a strategic liaison between job seekers and the business community, cultivating employer partnerships that create sustainable career opportunities and support inclusive workforce practices. The Senior Job Developer II leads customized employment strategies, develops and maintains relationships with businesses across multiple industries, and works collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to achieve successful employment outcomes. This role requires strong business acumen, workforce development expertise, and a proven ability to generate job opportunities through relationship-building, networking, and consultative employer engagement. The Awesome Things You'll Do Develop, cultivate, and maintain strategic partnerships with local, regional, and national employers to create competitive integrated employment opportunities. Conduct ongoing outreach to businesses, industry associations, chambers of commerce, workforce boards, and community organizations to expand employment opportunities. Serve as a trusted workforce solution partner to employers by understanding business needs, talent gaps, and hiring challenges. Promote the value of hiring individuals with disabilities and other underserved populations through education, advocacy, and consultation. Identify opportunities for customized employment, job carving, internships, apprenticeships, on-the-job training, and career pathway initiatives. Represent the organization at networking events, employer forums, job fairs, and workforce development meetings. Lead comprehensive job development efforts that align participant strengths, interests, and abilities with employer workforce needs. Utilize Customized Employment strategies, Discovery processes, and labor market information to identify and secure employment opportunities. Develop individualized employment plans and placement strategies that support long-term career success. Negotiate job duties, workplace accommodations, and customized positions when appropriate. Achieve and exceed placement, retention, and employer engagement performance goals. Monitor employment trends and labor market demands to identify emerging opportunities for participants. Provide advanced career, job readiness preparation, and employment counseling. Assist participants with career exploration, resume development, interview preparation, and professional skill-building. Support participants throughout the placement process and connect to follow-along services to promote job retention and advancement. Collaborate with vocational counselors, case managers, rehabilitation professionals, and team to ensure coordinated service delivery. Address employment barriers and develop strategies that support successful workplace integration. Mentor and support junior Job Developers and employment specialists. Assist leadership in developing employer engagement strategies, workforce initiatives, and program improvement efforts. Maintain accurate documentation, employment records, and outcome reporting in compliance with funding and regulatory requirements. Responsible placing 25 individuals per year. Provide 30 hours of direct services weekly. Assist with special projects and outreach events as assigned. JD is responsible for "job matching" a participant's experience, temperament and stated work settings and goals in order to place in appropriate job. Our Must Haves Bachelor's Degree in Human Services, Rehabilitation Counseling, Business Administration, Workforce Development, Human Resources or a related field Minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience in job development, workforce development, business development, talent acquisition, staffing, vocational rehabilitation, or related employment services. Experience as a Job Developer and/or Sales Marketing or related field a plus Demonstrated success in employer outreach, business relationship management, and job placement. Experience working with individuals with disabilities and/or other populations facing barriers to employment. Strong knowledge of Customized Employment, Supported Employment, labor market trends, and workforce development practices. Excellent networking, communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written Must be able to work with difficult population and defuse tense situations Must be a team player and have strong work ethic Must be flexible, open to new ideas, creative, and energetic Must be able to manage multiple tasks and prioritize competing demands Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PPT) Field based position, must be able to travel to multiple sites daily or as needed Intermediate proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Outlook required. Strong organizational, documentation, and time management Skills. Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred. Valid NJ Driver's License and reliable transportation preferred. Special Working Conditions Position is community-based & site based which requires frequent travel throughout Northern New Jersey. Work schedules may include evenings, periodic weekends, community events, and employer/participants needs. Worksites and community environments may vary based on participant and employer needs. Must be able to stand, walk, travel between sites, and lift up to 20 lbs occasionally.
