and Job Summary The part-time Employment Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting individuals with disabilities as our participants overcome the challenges in their journey toward meaningful employment. This position is part-time and involves collaborating with various stakeholders to facilitate workforce development, provide training and mentorship, and ensure compliance with employment labor laws. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to empowering clients through education and skill-building while fostering a supportive and inclusive work environment. Responsibilities Assess the employment needs and goals of individuals with a disability. Develop personalized employment plans that align with clients' skills, interests, and aspirations. Provide training development sessions to enhance job readiness and soft skills among clients. Mentor clients throughout the job search process, offering guidance on resume writing, interview preparation, and workplace etiquette. Collaborate with local businesses to identify job opportunities suitable for clients. Educate employers about the benefits of hiring individuals with disabilities and promote inclusive hiring practices. Stay informed about workforce development trends and best practices in employment services. Ensure compliance with relevant employment and labor laws and regulations. Maintain accurate records of client progress and program outcomes to ensure accountability and effectiveness. Qualifications College degree required. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with clients, employers, and stakeholders. Proven ability to educate and mentor individuals in a supportive manner. Experience in recruiting or human resources is beneficial. Background in education, human services, psychology, social work or related fields is preferred. A passion for helping others achieve their employment goals while promoting inclusivity in the workplace.
