Job Description

Posting Details The New Mexico Works (NMW) program, administered through the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) initiative, supports low-income families with children in achieving economic self-sufficiency. NMW offers job preparation, training, and employment services that help participants transition from government assistance to unsubsidized employment. By focusing on workforce development, family strengthening, and reducing dependency, NMW empowers families to build stable, long-term economic independence. Due to Budget the pay rate for position will be $23.90 Interviews will be conducted within 2 weeks of closing Why does the job exist? To assist Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) participants in personal development and barrier management in the process of finding meaningful work which will lead to a career and self sufficiency for their family and home. How does it get done? Matching TANF participant skills, goals and experience with employer's needs through job development, training, skill assessment, counseling services, interviewing, collaborating and networking as well as ongoing case management throughout the program. Who are the customers? TANF participants, Employers, Government agencies and Workforce Partners Ideal Candidate TANF participants, Employers, Government agencies and Workforce Partners Minimum Qualification High School diploma or Equivalency and two (2) years' experience in customer service, administrative support, human resources, recruitment, placement, selection, compensation, benefits administration, labor relations, occupational analysis, processing personnel transactions, or eligibility determination in a public and/or social welfare program. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling two (2) years may substitute for the required experience. Employment Requirements Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Pre-employment background investigation is required and is conditional pending results. Working Conditions Office setting. Sitting for long periods of time viewing computer monitor. Repetitive hand movement. Standing, walking, lifting up to 20 lbs. Use of computer, copier and telephone. This role will include occasional travel to nearby offices up to 20%, within approximately a two-hour radius, to assist with coverage needs. Travel may be required to include overnight stays.
