Job Description

Job Summary Community Support Workers have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of our clients by assisting them in accessing various resources and services within the community. Most job tasks are conducted outside of traditional office settings with scheduling flexibility. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with clients to assess their needs and develop personalized support plans. Assist clients in accessing resources related to independent living, employment, education, socialization, and recreation. Work with both children and adults to promote their overall well-being and integration into the community. Build and maintain relationships with community stakeholders, including local agencies, schools, employers, and healthcare providers. Provide advocacy and support to clients in navigating systems and overcoming barriers. Qualifications and Requirements Required High School graduate of General Educational Development (GED) test and a minimum of three (3) years of experience working with the target population. Prior experience working with diverse populations and demonstrate cultural competency. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Minimum staff training requirements include twenty (20) hours of documented training and/or continuing education. Must pass CYFD background/fingerprint clearance check to maintain employment. Must obtain CPR and First Aid certification. Must be at least 21 years old to comply with GCLC policies and procedures. Reliable transportation and maintain a clear driving record in accordance with GCLC policies and procedures. Preferred Bachelor's Degree in a human service field from an accredited university, Preference given to qualified bilingual (Spanish/English) candidates.
