Job Description

The Child Research and Study Center is an official university-based unit that has a longstanding, externally funded hub of interdisciplinary scholarship dedicated to improving student outcomes across academic and developmental domains. For decades, the center has sustained competitive federal, state, and foundation funding to design, evaluate, and scale evidence-based practices that include social-emotional and behavioral health with literacy development?areas widely shown to be interconnected in promoting student success. Through partnerships with schools and communities, the center advances inclusive approaches that support all learners, including students with disabilities, while contributing to the research base, professional development, and policy guidance needed to improve educational systems at scale. This work is supported by the Preschool Development Birth through Five Initiative (PDG B-5) Grant Number 90TP0130-02-00, from the Administration for Children and Families, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services in contract with the New York State Council on Children and Families.
Description of Duties:
Professional Development Delivery :
Provides intensive, practice-based implementation coaching and technical assistance to assigned Program Leadership Teams (PLTs). Guides programs through the Implementation Kick-Off Process and ongoing stages of exploration, installation, implementation, and sustainability. Supports leadership teams in developing, implementing, and monitoring action plans that strengthen systems for social-emotional learning, inclusion, and behavior support.
Implementation Coaching & Technical Assistance:
Provides intensive, practice-based implementation coaching and technical assistance to assigned Program Leadership Teams (PLTs). Guides programs through the Implementation Kick-Off Process and ongoing stages of exploration, installation, implementation, and sustainability. Supports leadership teams in developing, implementing, and monitoring action plans that strengthen systems for social-emotional learning, inclusion, and behavior support.
Fidelity Assessment, Observation, and Data Use:
Conducts formal fidelity observations using approved Pyramid Model tools (e.g., TPOT, TPITOS, Benchmarks of Quality). Supports programs in collecting, entering, analyzing, and using implementation and fidelity data within the Pyramid Model Implementation Data System (PIDS). Uses data to inform coaching decisions, continuous quality improvement, and program-level problem solving.
Systems-Level Collaboration & Coordination:
Collaborates with Regional Coordinators, regional team members, classroom coaches, administrators, and other implementation partners to ensure coordinated, coherent service delivery. Strengthens leadership capacity, team functioning, and internal coaching structures to promote sustainability. Participates in meetings, calibration sessions, communities of practice, and required statewide convenings.
Documentation, Reporting & Quality Assurance:
Maintains accurate records of trainings, coaching activities, observations, and outcomes using the Aspire Registry, PIDS, and internal data systems. Contributes to regional and statewide reporting requirements and supports ongoing evaluation and continuous quality improvement efforts.
Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in a related field required; Master's degree preferred State-certified member of the Professional Development Network (PDN) listed in the ASPIRE Registry Experience using the NYS Pyramid Model Implementation Data System (PIDS) Minimum of two (2) years of experience providing professional development, coaching, or technical assistance to adult learners in early childhood or related systems. Demonstrated knowledge of the Pyramid Model or comparable multi-tiered frameworks supporting social-emotional development, inclusion, and behavior support. Strong facilitation, coaching, communication, and collaboration skills. Experience with data-informed decision making, action planning, and team-based problem solving. Ability to travel regionally and work effectively in both virtual and in-person environments. Preferred Qualifications Officially approved via the Master Cadre/PDN process to support multiple aspects of Pyramid Model installation within early childhood programs (e.g. leadership team coaching, Pyramid Model module training, practitioner coaching, implementation fidelity assessment).

Salary Range :
