Associate Construction Specialist - CONST Major Projects Consolidated Edison Company of York $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 / yr United States, York, Elmhurst Jun 09, 2026 Overview Construction Management Gas department is looking for a dedicated professional who is highly motivated, self-reliant, resourceful, and articulate to join the department as an Associate Construction Specialist. The successful candidate must have excellent leadership skill, exercise good judgment and render sound and technical decisions. To succeed in this position, the selected candidate must demonstrate a positive work ethic in support of the Companys Corporate Values and Mission. The Associate Specialist will allow for the establishment of end-to-end chain of custody contract payments for Con Edison and ensure implementation of Company safety, health and environmental programs for employees whose work is directed. Ensure that the safe work practices are followed and the environment is fully protected in accordance with Company policy and governmental regulations. Responsibilities Core Responsibilities Responsible for requesting documentation from the Companys contractors required to support Unit Price Contract payments Ensures all required documents, paperwork, photographs, etc. are contained compliance in a contract payment folder before submittal to CCI for the Chief Construction Inspectors review. Monitors, maintains and secures payment folders from initial submittal by Inspectors/CRs through final payment and filing. Responsible to secure, monitor and maintain payment folders from initial submittal by Inspectors and Construction Representatives (CR) through final payment and filing. Assist with the resolution of contractor exceptions to proposed payments (claims). Support the goals of Construction Management to ensure maximized safety, quality, efficiency, reliability and customer satisfaction. The position requires a commitment to the Way We Work Principles, and adherence to the Companys Standards of Business Conduct and other Company procedures including Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS), Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), discipline, and security. This position is designated as fulltime, onsite (5 days per week), with the possibility of limited flexibility, at the discretion of the Department. May perform other related assignments as required to support departmental needs Qualifications Required Education/Experience High School Diploma/GED and minimum of 6 years relevant work experience. Relevant work experience includes Experience in office management, utilization of spreadsheets and databases to track and monitor work queues; interfacing with customers and/or contractors, filing, setting-up and following-up with appointments along with updating financial records or Associate's Degree and minimum of 4 years relevant work experience. Relevant work experience includes Experience in office management, utilization of spreadsheets and databases to track and monitor work queues; interfacing with customers and/or contractors, filing, setting-up and following-up with appointments along with updating financial records or Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 3 years relevant work experience. Relevant Work Experience Demonstrated experience working with both internal and external customers to resolve problems and create a positive customer experience, required. Demonstrated experience working with Microsoft Office software applications (Access, Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) required. Demonstrated experience managing multiple assignments, required. Experience in office management, utilization of spreadsheets, and databases to track and monitor work queues, required. Experience with accounts receivable and invoicing contractors, preferred. Experience working with Customer Relationship Management Software Applications, preferred. Experience with Work Management Systems like Oracle EBS and other invoicing systems, preferred. Experience with Data Analytics tool such as Tableau and/or PowerBI, preferred. Experience in interpreting contract pay items and standard terms and conditions of construction contracts is preferred. Working knowledge of MAXIMO, EDIS and the Vactor Service (Flush) System, preferred. Skills and Abilities Demonstrated customer service skills and Demonstrated problem solving skills and Ability to interpret basic information on drawings. and Effective interpersonal skills and Strong verbal communication and listening skills and Strong written and verbal communication skills and Excellent organizational skills and Highly thorough and dependable and Ability to work within tight timeframes and meet strict deadlines and Must be proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, etc. and Possesses strong product knowledge Licenses and Certifications Driver's License Required Physical Demands Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 25 pounds Sit or stand to answer a phone for the duration of the workday Sit or stand to use a keyboard, mouse, and computer for the duration of the workday Possess manual dexterity and the ability to use hands for the duration of the workday Ability to stoop, bend, reach, and kneel throughout the workday Ability to read small print and symbols Additional Physical Demands The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays. Must be willing and able to work in hot or cold climates during emergencies i.e. Storm Duty. Must be willing and able to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays as required Must be willing and able to travel within the Company service territories, as necessary. Must be willing and able to wear PPE as required. This position is designated as fulltime, onsite (5 days per week).
