Job Description:
The
PROSPERAR
Pathway Coach works collaboratively in a diverse, inclusive and student-centered environment, with students of various learning styles, identities and life experiences. As a representative of one or more of the seven communities, this position centers on clearing the path for students to graduate, with targeted strategies to meet the needs of Hispanic and low-income students. The
PROSPERAR
Pathway Coach will help students gain access to resources when most needed. Programming is focused on student skill development in time management, long-term planning, study skills, and self-advocacy to support academic retention and completion. Through individual and group advisement, the
PROSPERAR
Pathway Coach will ensure that students utilize the resources that have been recommended and monitor their impact on student success. Emphasis is placed on making student referrals to appropriate services that foster collaborative support from multiple departments. The
PROSPERAR
Pathway Coach will serve as a support system to the designated department(s) to ensure that students graduate from college, explore vocational opportunities, and find their career path. Travel may be required between both campuses and other sites, as needed. Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule to accommodate the needs of the program, including evening, and some weekends, is essential.
Requirements:
Education Required:
Bachelor's Degree or higher.
Experience Required:
One year of experience working with students/client advocacy with a focus on education and or personal growth.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Worker Characteristics:
Experience with developing, conducting and evaluating educational programs. Experience Implementing tools to track student progress towards academic and personal goals and/or student success. Knowledge of higher education, training and vocational programs. Knowledge about community and college resources. Experience working with low-income, first-generation populations. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to complete tasks accurately and in a timely manner. Proactive problem solver that demonstrates initiative and the ability to work individually and, in a team, setting when necessary. Ability to effectively establish and maintain working relationships with supervising personnel, coworkers, all constituents and the public. Perform well under pressure, within time constraints, with a high degree of accuracy, diplomacy and confidentiality. Ability to coordinate work flow while dealing with multiple projects and deadlines. Ability to present complex information and data in coherent fashion. Bilingual-Spanish.

ASAP Salary:
$25-$27 per hour (commensurate with experience and education) up to 29 hours per week and up to 40 weeks per year. This is a part-time position requiring a commitment of 29 hours per week. Coaches are expected to work a minimum of four days per week, with a consistent schedule during morning to late afternoon hours. This position is contingent upon the continued availability of grant funds.
