QUALIFICATIONS
Master's Degree in School Counseling, Counseling Education or related field. Valid New York State School Counselor
RESPONSIBILITIES
? Coordinate all aspects of the Smart Scholars Early College High School Program. ? Recruit, identify, and support eligible students through the application and enrollment process. ? Monitor student academic progress, attendance and participation in college coursework. ? Facilitate communication between students, families, school personnel, and college partners. Assist students in all aspects of their college courses enrollment. ? Provide students with assistance and support on-site at HVCC; including but not limited to navigating the college campus, acquiring textbooks and supplies, troubleshooting class/student related issues, utilizing professor office hours and tutoring center, etc. ? Act as a liaison with college professors. ? Meet with college administration and advisors regarding scheduling classes and individual students. ? Plan and oversee the implementation of Smart Scholars Summer Bridge Week. ? Coordinate and oversee all aspects of the Career Exploration Internship Program (CEIP). ? Develop partnerships with local businesses, industries, nonprofit organizations, and community agencies to secure internship and job-shadowing opportunities. ? Act as a liaison with Troy CSD students and Business and Industry Partners. ? Recruit, place and monitor students participating in internships and career exploration experiences. ? Conduct site visits and maintain communication with employees, mentors, students and families. ? Track student participation, internship hours and evaluations. ? Assist students with college applications, financial aid, scholarships an d career pathway development. ? Any other responsibility as deemed necessary by the
