Mobility Mentor Job Description Baby University's Thrive Program empowers families to move from surviving to thriving by building a community of support where parents can learn the wholistic, essential skills for self-sufficiency. Mobility Mentors meet monthly with participants for SMART goal setting and skill building.

Salary:

Hours/week:

40 hrs per week, must be available to work evenings as scheduled. The Thrive Mobility Mentor will be responsible for achieving program goals via the Mobility Mentoring informed approach in the following key areas:

Group and Individual Mentoring:

• Attend and contribute to Thrive group mentoring sessions
• Maintain a caseload of clients (up to 30)
• Interact with parents attending Baby U to ensure smooth hand off to Thrive
• Interact with parents and teachers at Mosaic Preschool to ensure smooth hand offs and maintain relationships
• Recruit parents for one-on-one mentoring
• Provide one-on-one mentoring, coaching and goal setting to parents participating in the Thrive
• Serve as a resource for participants on issues including housing, budgeting, career and education, childcare, healthcare and more
• Conduct detailed assessments and monitor and document parents' progress according to individual plans
• Work with parents to develop short-term and long-term economic mobility goals
• Help parents identify strengths and problem solve around challenges based on available assessments

Documentation:

• Thorough and organized documentation of caseload efforts, including up to date and accurate documentation of electronic database system according to deadlines Team Building
• Participate in weekly Thrive and Baby U Team meetings Education
• Complete all relevant training required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to work with adults toward economic mobility goals such as educational advancement, career advancement and financial literacy
• Knowledge of Motivational Interviewing and coaching practices
• Flexibility in workplace
• Openness to ongoing and consistent supervision, coaching, shadowing and feedback
• Work well within a collaborative team as well as the ability to work independently
• Ability to connect with and teach a broad spectrum of learning styles
• Good computer skills
• Excellent organization skills, willingness to report on all aspects of work and analyze effort for continuous improvement.

Educational and Other Requirements:

• At least 2 years of experience working with low-income children and families is required.
• Bachelor's Degree or imminent completion of Bachelor's degree is preferred
• Experience in case management, social work or home visiting is preferred

Pay:

$18.00
