Job Description
Making a difference in the lives of our clients, the Employment Specialist carries out the services of the supported employment program by assisting consumers in obtaining and maintaining employment that is consistent with their vocational goals and by establishing working relationships with community employers.
Responsibilities Include:
Provide Vocational Support Services, including Job coaching and travel training, evaluation, guidance, and referral to resources. Prepare Functional Assessments of clients. Provide assistance and encouragement to clients to explore vocational goals, strengths, and problems. Provides job seeking skills training. Provides services for OOD as supervised by the Employment Services Team Leader. Participate in the creation and completion of Individualized Service Plans. Introduces clients to Ohio Means Jobs and other community resources. Schedule, coordinate, and obtain employment opportunities for clients. Provide guidance to clients concerning benefits. Provide follow up contacts and services with clients to maintain employment. Associate Degree or commensurate experience will be considered. Must have employment focused experience in the mental health and/or vocational rehabilitation field. Must possess good interpersonal communication skills, organizational skills, case documentation skills and computer skills. Provides complex explanations to others, verbally and in writing that rely on technical knowledge and thought. Adheres to client confidentiality. Will be expected to be certified in CPR, and first aid within six months of employment date. Must possess a valid driver's license with verifiable proof of insurability.
