Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
The Elementary Specialist for the Kiowa Tribe's Native Youth community Project (NYCP) will develop program for Elementary School-aged students to introduce ad support college and career readiness of Kiowa and other Native American Students early in their educational experiences. This position will design and implement culturally grounded activities that strengthen academic achievement, career development skills, and personal growth while addressing barriers Native youth face in and out of school.
RESPONSIBILITIES
NYCP Program coordination and grant requirements Plan and implement activities that promote college and career readiness, such as college campus experiences, workshops, leadership trainings, and mentorship opportunities for elementary-aged students. Identify and address barriers to student success (e.g. technology, transportation, and/or culturally appropriate mentorship) Integrate Native culture into project activities to strengthen students' identity and sense of belonging Manage project goals and reports as required by funding agency and the administering tribal nation Other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Associate's Degree or equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree preferred Must be able to collect, track, compile and report data Strong communication, integrity, work ethic, collaboration, reliability, and trustworthiness Demonstrate strong commitment to educational advancement and K.E.A.'s Mission.
REQUIREMENTS
Must have clean driving record with no history of serious or major offenses under K.E.A. Driver Policies. Must be able to pass initial and periodical drug screening Must pass extensive background check.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Must be able to lift 20 lbs. or more, sit, walk, stand, and drive for extended time periods. Must be able to work inside, outside, and on-location as needed with some occasional travel required.
