Asset Building Specialist (Financial Educator and Coach) Marion County |
Hybrid/Flexible Schedule Pay Range:
$24.52 - $31.25 per hour, DOE $1,500 Sign-On Bonus for HUD-Certified Candidates At DevNW and Community LendingWorks (CLW), we help individuals and families build financial stability, achieve homeownership, and create long-term wealth. Through housing counseling, financial education, lending, and asset-building programs, we work to expand access to opportunity and address barriers that have historically limited economic mobility. We're seeking an Asset Building Specialist who is passionate about helping people reach their financial goals through education, coaching, outreach, and community partnership building. In addition to meaningful work that makes a difference in our communities, we offer: Employer-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance for employees (your monthly premium could be $0 depending on the plan selected) Flexible schedules, including alternative work schedules where operationally feasible Generous paid time off, including vacation, sick leave, floating holidays, self-care days, and 11 paid holidays annually Flexible Spending Account (FSA) Employee Assistance Program (EAP) 401(k) with employer match What You'll Do Provide one-on-one financial wellness and homeownership counseling Analyze budgets, credit reports, and debt-to-income ratios Develop action plans that support financial stability and mortgage readiness Facilitate homebuyer education and financial wellness classes Coordinate class logistics, materials, volunteers, and scheduling Conduct community outreach, presentations, and partnership development Support the cultivation of prospective homebuyers for affordable homeownership opportunities Connect clients with additional DevNW programs and resources Maintain accurate client records and required documentation Collaborate on curriculum development and continuous program improvement What We're Looking For Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Three or more years of experience working directly with clients Strong communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines Commitment to equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive service delivery Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout Lane, Benton, Marion, and Clackamas Counties Preferred Qualifications Experience in financial coaching, housing counseling, lending, banking, mortgage, real estate, or related fields Experience facilitating adult education or training Community outreach or client recruitment experience Bilingual English/Spanish skills HUD Housing Counselor Certification Certification Requirements - Candidates who already hold a HUD Housing Counselor Certification are strongly encouraged to apply and are eligible for a $1,500 sign-on bonus.
Successful candidates must:
Pass the HUD Housing Counselor Certification exam within 60 days of hire Obtain a Homeownership Counseling Certification within one year of hire Work Schedule & Location This position requires occasional evening and Saturday classes and occasional travel.
