Job Description

Category Schools - Orientation and Mobility Specialist Job Type Contract A certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS) is sought for a contract position in Lansdale, PA, supporting students in a school setting. This role is ideal for professionals with a Certificate of Orientation and Mobility in Pennsylvania who are passionate about empowering visually impaired students to navigate their environments confidently.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement individualized orientation and mobility programs to enhance student independence Conduct assessments and provide instruction on safe travel techniques and use of assistive devices Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and families to support student goals and progress Monitor and document student improvement and adapt strategies as needed Provide training and consultation to staff on O&M best practices
Qualifications and Experience:
Current Certificate of Orientation and Mobility in Pennsylvania Previous experience working as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist in educational settings Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with students, families, and school teams Ability to work independently and manage caseload efficiently Commitment to student-centered, evidence-based practices
Position Details:
Location:
Lansdale, PA Contract role with scheduled hours of 32.5 hours per week (Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 3:15 PM)
Start Date:
Immediate availability or August 2026
Workweek:
