Eighteen (18) years of age and older. Self-Identify as having a Substance Use Disorder Have at least eighteen months, in a continuous manner, of personal, lived, recovery experience High School Diploma OR GED; Must Produce PA-approved Vendor CRS Certificate (if Certified already) Completion of the 78 hour Recovery Specialist certification training approved by the Pennsylvania Certification Board PCB Recovery Specialist certification OR the ability to become certified What is aCertified Recovery Specialist:
The Certified Recovery Specialist is responsible for providing individual advocacy and support to their peers to facilitate the development of recovery skills, and enhance wellness. The recovery specialist provides opportunities for individuals to direct their own recovery process, and to develop self-help skills, build support networks, and increase awareness of community resources. The recovery specialist serves as a role model for recovery as someone who is a self-identifies as a person in recovery from a substance use disorder who can relate to others through their own recovery process.About Peerstar:
