Duties :
Provide quality workforce development counseling and transition services to secondary career and technical students to prepare them for a successful career path. Build relationships with local organizations and service providers to establish additional resources for students. Maintain appropriate professional certificates and licenses as required. Possess excellent communication skills. Capable of fulfilling all job responsibilities as indicated in the CWCTC Vocational Counselor Job Description.
Qualifications :
Must possess an advanced degree in one or more of the following areas: Rehabilitation Counseling, Social Work, School Psychology; Must possess one of the following credentials: L.C.S.W. (License in Clinical Social Work), L.P.C. (Licensed Professional Counselor), C.R.C. (Certified Rehabilitation Counselor), N.C.C. (National Certified Counselor), C.D.F. (Career Development Facilitator)
- Proven experience in recruiting, mentoring, or training development
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with clients
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to conduct effective interviews and provide constructive feedback
- Knowledge of career assessment tools and resources
- Familiarity with job search strategies and online job boards
- Ability to work independently and manage large caseload of students simultaneously
Note:
This position falls under the CWCTC Education Association's collective bargaining agreement. The position is a 187 day schedule with summer and holidays off.
