GENERAL OVERVIEW OF KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The person occupying this position encourages choice, self -advocacy and self -determination of program participants. Responsible for supervision and training of program participants assigned. This person oversees completion of contract tasks including quality control of materials. He or she will also assist with the development and implementation of individualized plans for program participants.
ESSENTIAL & CORE FUNCTIONS
Assists in development and implementation of formal and informal goals. Provides vocational training to group participants as assigned. Facilitates alternate activities with participants in the absence of contract work. Responsible for the welfare and safety of workshop participants. Attends meetings and staff development programs as assigned. Informs Program Specialist, Workshop Supervisor and/or Program Director of participants needs as appropriate. Collects and records data regarding participants' personal and vocational development. Prepares daily and bi-weekly production records. Assists with shipping and receiving activities including counting, packing, skidding, and preparing documentation. Responsible for the safe operation of machinery, (i.e., motorized and manual forklift, shrink wrap) as needed. Provides coverage for lunch and breaks as assigned. Participates in time studies as assigned. Maintains assigned work area in an orderly, safe and professional condition.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.
PREREQUISITES & QUALIFICATIONS
Thirty (30) credit hours from an accredited college or university or a High School diploma and 1 year of experience in production and working with people with disabilities. FBI clearance, PA criminal history check and PA child abuse clearance required.
COMPETENCIES & PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS
Knowledge of instructional techniques utilized in the training of persons with disabilities. Ability to organize the assigned work area and maintain production. Ability to ensure quality control and maintain quality standards.
