Job Description
Admissions Counselors/Career Transition Specialist Jackson Pierce has openings for Admissions Counselors/Career Transition Specialists to enroll young adults into the Job Corps program and place them into employment opportunities. Job Details - what you will do Assists and provides guidance to prospective Job Corps enrollees by determining basic enrollment eligibility, conducting screening and assessments, and providing career-based counseling to assist students in the successful completion of the Job Corps program. Provides placement (employment, apprenticeship, and post-secondary education enrollment), and transition services. Outreach Promote the Job Corps program to community- based agencies, schools, and influencers in an assigned area. Develop and nurture relationships with community and social service organizations, government entities, and educational institutions to gain referrals of perspective and interested students Conduct information sessions to small and medium sized groups Enrollment Provide career advice to young people about career technical training offered at Job Corps Enroll interested young adults through a prescribed process Collect and verify documents needed for enrollment Provide referrals to young people not eligible for the program to other community opportunities Job Placement Assist and provide career guidance to graduates or separating students, providing placement (employment, apprenticeship, and post-secondary education enrollment), and transition services. Establishes robust relationships with employers, community colleges, and other entities to ensure successful job, educational and military placements with good career pathway opportunities for economic self-sufficiency. Requirements:
Candidate must live in the area and be able to report on-site a minimum of 2 days per week. Able to use a computer for scanning, entering information, and communicating with others Ability to be a remote worker Must have a car available during business hours Have a valid driving license and ability to drive for work Have a cell phone and internet access (we provide a communication stipend) Education Requirement Bachelor's degree in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, communications, or closely related field; or Associate's degree in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, communications, or closely related field, and two years related experience. Experience may include successful Job Corps outreach, admissions and/or job placement experience or successful outreach and admissions and job placement experience with other youth development programs.
