Career Navigator 15880 Dam Road Extension, Clearlake, CA 95422 Hybrid work $25 an hour - Temporary, Part-time $25 an hour - Temporary, Part-time This is a temporary, part-time position funded by a federal grant. We expect 30 hours per week for approximately three months and then 20 hours per week going forward until the end of the grant in June 2027 or when all participants are closed out of the program.

About Workforce Alliance of the North Bay (WANB): The Workforce Alliance of the North Bay (WANB) is a joint powers agency (local government special district) consisting of the Counties of Lake, Marin, Mendocino, and Napa. WANB coordinates workforce development planning, programs, and systems in accordance with the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) and other federal, state, and local workforce initiatives.Responsibility Summary:
The Career Navigator performs direct service and participant‑focused work supporting workforce development and training programs. Primary responsibilities include eligibility intake, participant enrollment, case management, follow‑up, documentation, and coordination with service providers, partners, and employers. This position plays a critical role in ensuring participants receive appropriate services, remain engaged, and successfully complete training or employment pathways while maintaining compliance with applicable program requirements. WANB is a small organization, and employees are expected to be flexible and collaborative. While the Career Navigator focuses primarily on participant services and case management, they may assist with other programmatic or administrative tasks as needed.Reporting Matrix:
Reports to and receives direction from an assigned WANB Supervisor or Manager, which may include the Executive Director or Program Manager. Works closely with program participants, service providers, training institutions, employers, contractors, partner agencies, and the general public.Examples of Duties Eligibility Intake and Enrollment:
Conduct participant intake interviews to assess eligibility for workforce development and training programs. Review, collect, and verify documentation required to determine program eligibility in accordance with federal, state, and local guidelines. Explain program requirements, participant responsibilities, available services, and expectations in a clear and accessible manner. Complete enrollment activities and enter accurate participant data into required data management and case tracking systems.Case Management and Participant Support:
Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned participants throughout their participation in workforce programs. Develop, implement, and monitor individualized service strategies or plans in collaboration with participants and partners. Provide ongoing guidance, referrals, and support to participants to promote retention, progress, and successful outcomes. Conduct regular follow‑up with participants during training, job search, employment, or post‑placement periods. Identify and address barriers to participation, making referrals to supportive services when appropriate.Documentation, Compliance, and Data Management:
Maintain complete, accurate, and timely participant case files in compliance with applicable program requirements. Ensure all eligibility, service, and outcome documentation is properly collected and recorded. Monitor participant progress and outcomes to ensure alignment with performance and reporting requirements. Assist with audits, monitoring reviews, and corrective actions related to participant services and documentation.Coordination and Partner Engagement:
Coordinate with service providers, training institutions, and partner organizations to support participant success. Communicate participant status and service needs, as appropriate, with internal staff and external partners. Participate in meetings, trainings, and collaborative activities related to workforce development programs.Other Duties:
Assist with outreach activities, orientations, workshops, or informational sessions as needed. Support special projects, data collection, surveys, or reporting related to participant services. Travel to multiple sites as required for participant meetings, partner coordination, or program activities. Perform other duties as assigned.Recommended Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of:
Workforce development programs, participant services, and case management principles. Eligibility determination and documentation requirements for public or grant‑funded programs. Principles and practices of public administration and human services delivery. Basic data management, recordkeeping, and reporting requirements. Computer applications including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and case management systems.Ability to:
Conduct effective intake interviews and assess participant needs and eligibility. Understand, interpret, and apply federal, state, and local policies and program requirements. Maintain accurate, organized, and confidential participant records. Communicate clearly and professionally with participants, partners, and stakeholders. Build and maintain cooperative working relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Manage multiple cases, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment. Work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team.Required Experience and Training:
High School diploma or equivalent required, bachelor's degree in social services, public administration, education, human resources, business administration, or a related field desired; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.Certificates and Licenses Required:
Appropriate California driver's license or availability of alternate means of transportation.Pay:
$25.00 per hourBenefits:
