The Division of Services for People with Disabilities, within the Department of Human Services, is looking for a dedicated professional to fill our Caseworker Specialist I position. As the Caseworker Specialist you will perform caseworker duties in one of the following areas: clients with intellectual disabilities; families with members having disabilities; and determining ongoing eligibility for individuals with disabilities FT / PT Status

  • 5/31/2026 Key Responsibilities Coordinate Assessments and Support for clients.
Complete field work assignments to complete assessments used to support Persons initial Person CenteredSupport Plan (PCSP) and budgets; complete Utah Comprehensive Assessment of Needs and Supports (UCANS)assessments. Provide consultation, make recommendations, give appropriate advice, and/or facilitate decisions. Coordinate and refer services of community resources, placement providers, collateral agencies, the court, and/or other community partners with families, clients, or patients receiving services. Assess client/patient needs. Develops and implements plans to meet those needs. Qualifications Minimum (Day One)
Qualifications:
Has knowledge of Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) Has obtained certification as a QIDP (Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional) Has a Bachelor's Degree in a Human Services related field or equivalent experience Has strong interpersonal skills Is passionate about empowering People with Disabilities Is an excellent listener who is also very proactive Has knowledge of community resources for people with disabilities and how to access those resources Has the ability to work well with a wide range of people with varying interests Has general knowledge of the Medicaid eligibility process About the Role Location
