Position Summary:
The Assistant Director of Career Services supports the development, coordination, and delivery of career development programs and employment services. This position is responsible for providing overall supervision and management of Career Services staff to ensure participants prepare for, achieve, and maintain employment. This role assists individuals in career exploration, job readiness, internship placement, job obtainment and professional development while building strong partnerships with employers and community organizations. - Collaborate with Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors on participants
- Assist individuals with career exploration, goal setting, resume writing, interview preparation, and job search strategies.
- Conduct workshops and presentations on career readiness topics.
- Support participants in developing professional skills and career plans.
- Maintain accurate records of student interactions and career outcomes.
- Ensures that person centered planning is occurring for career service related activities Employer Relations & Partnerships
- Develop and maintain relationships with employers, industry partners, and community organizations.
- Coordinate internship, externship, and employment opportunities for students and graduates.
- Assist in organizing career fairs, networking events, employer panels, and recruitment activities.
- Promote employer engagement initiatives and workforce partnerships. Outreach & Collaboration
- Collaborate with local partners to integrate career readiness into student programming.
- Participate in outreach initiatives to increase student engagement with career services.
- Represent the institution at community events, employer meetings, and professional associations.
- Support diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives within career development programming.
Program Development & Administration:
- Assist in planning and implementing career development programs and services.
- Support the development of career resources, online tools, and employment materials.
- Monitor program effectiveness and recommend improvements.
- Assist with data collection, reporting, and assessment activities.
- Ensure compliance with institutional policies and accreditation standards.
- Direct the Career Service staff in the development of new business relationships for sites and assignments appropriate for participants.
- Assist in the development of vocational staff training materials, policy, and procedures, and train supporting management staff on implementation plans.
- Assist the Director in overseeing all programs.
- Maintains an effective plan of organization for the Vocational Rehabilitation Services department with explicit and detailed assignment of responsibility and commensurate delegation of authority.
- Adhere to the department budget and ensure that Career Services operate within guidelines and goals for revenue and expense budgets.
- Exercise discretion and independent judgment with matters of significance as it relates to the supervision of Career Services programing..
- Assist with compiling all statistical data and reports required and requested by contract agencies and for audits.
- Assist in setting and managing all Career Services progress to meet departmental goals in areas of participant engagement, job placement, and job retention.
- Assist in conducting measurements to ensure that staff and program components deliver quality services to participants in accordance with overall program objectives.
- Ensure proper staff training and program development in accordance with the responsibilities of administrative staff positions, and facilitate the growth and development of each job function.
- Provide structure for maintaining accurate department billing.
- Implement internal controls to confirm that work and production are consistent with regular policies, procedures, and practices.
- Assist in conducting a review of systems to ensure quality services were performed and invoice efficiently.

Required Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling or another related field.
- ACRES or CESP Certified
- Person Centered Planning Facilitator
- Discovery Certified
- Minimum 5 to 7 years of strong management experience, preferably in Vocational Rehabilitation or Employment Services, or an equivalent combination of related education and experience.
Job Requirements:
- Valid Driver's License
- Ability to drive company vehicles.
- Access to a personal vehicle for reliable transportation to a variety of job sites.
- Access and ability to transport participants in personal vehicles.
- Ability to obtain a chauffeur's license.
- Ability to lift/push/pull 50lbs.
- Ability to work during inclement weather.
- A favorable National Criminal Background check along with OIG clearance
- Individuals must possess qualities of independence, reliability, and initiative.
- A willingness to work a flexible schedule is required.
- Proven experience in job development, employment services, or related fields.
- Strong understanding of job market trends, recruitment strategies, and employer needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Understands the IEP process and CDP completion

$65,000 - $75,000 annually
