JOB SUMMARY
The ClemsonLIFE Basic Program Instructor (BPI) will be responsible for providing direct classroom instruction to ClemsonLIFE students, facilitating ongoing curriculum development, providing regular student support and engagement, collecting and documenting data, and communicating frequently with internal and external stakeholders. The BPI will also engage in program development and professional collaboration and will perform other duties as assigned.

    Designs and delivers inclusive, age-appropriate instruction aligned with ClemsonLIFE program goals, supporting student growth in academics, employment readiness, independent living, and self-advocacy through evidence-based and accessible teaching practices. 20%

Independent Living Support:
Provides individualized coaching and support to help students develop, practice, and generalize employment and/or independent living skills across campus, community, and work-based settings. 20%

    Builds positive, supportive relationships with students to promote engagement, motivation, self-confidence, and belonging, while responding to individual needs and fostering participation across academic, social, and campus environments. 10%

    Collects and documents student progress using program data systems, contributes to progress monitoring and reporting, and communicates effectively with students, families, staff, and campus partners. 10%

Program Development & Professional Collaboration:
Collaborates with ClemsonLIFE staff, faculty, and campus and community partners to support program implementation, continuous improvement, and a shared commitment to inclusive postsecondary education. Actively participates in the student admissions and interview process for applicants to the PSE program, contributing to application review, interviews, and selection decisions to ensure alignment with program expectations and student success outcomes.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education
  • Bachelor's Degree Certifications
  • Teaching Certification Work Experience
  • 1+ years of relevant teaching experience

INFORMATION
Anticipated Hiring Range:
$50,600
  • $58,000 Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.
ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL
Normal Operations Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected work on-site during emergency situations.
