Assistant Director of Career Readiness Darlington County Institute of Technology (DCIT) 215-Day Administrative Position Darlington County School District is seeking a strong, student-centered leader to serve as Assistant Director of Career Readiness at the Darlington County Institute of Technology (DCIT). At the center of this role is a clear responsibility: expanding access to meaningful career pathways and ensuring students graduate prepared for college, career, or military service. This position plays a critical role in supporting the day-to-day leadership of DCIT while strengthening districtwide Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs. This is an opportunity to help build systems that connect students to real-world opportunities and future success. What This Role Will Do Support Career Pathways and Student Success Expand access to high-quality CTE programs, industry credentials, and work-based learning opportunities Support systems that ensure students are prepared for postsecondary success Promote student engagement through relevant, career-connected learning experiences Strengthen Instruction and Program Quality Support the implementation of high-quality CTE instruction aligned to district and state standards Assist in monitoring instructional quality and providing feedback to teachers Support program development aligned to workforce demand and student interest Drive continuous improvement based on student outcomes and program data Use Data to Improve Outcomes Build Partnerships that Expand Opportunity Support partnerships with adult education, business, industry, and postsecondary institutions Assist in coordinating internships, job shadowing, and work-based learning Strengthen advisory committees to ensure programs remain relevant and aligned Support Staff and Build Capacity Assist in recruiting, developing, and retaining high-quality CTE educators Support teacher evaluation and professional growth Build consistency in program expectations and instructional practices Align Systems and Operations Support scheduling, transportation coordination, and student access to programs Maintain inventory and support procurement aligned to program needs Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal CTE requirements Who We're Seeking We are seeking a leader who: Believes career readiness is a core outcome for every student Understands how to connect education to real-world opportunities Demonstrates strong organizational and operational leadership Uses data to drive decisions and improve programs Builds strong relationships with educators, students, and community partners Leads with clarity, urgency, and purpose Translates systems into results for students Qualifications Valid South Carolina certification as a Principal or Vocational Center Director Minimum five (5) years of secondary education experience Demonstrated success leading instructional programs and managing operations Experience in Career and Technical Education preferred Experience with workforce partnerships, credentials, or program coordination preferred Compensation Base salary $77,276 commensurate with experience and credentials, according to the DCSD Administrative Salary Schedule Comprehensive benefits package including state retirement and health insurance 215-day administrative contract Darlington County School District values leaders who bring clarity, consistency, and results to our work If you are ready to help connect students to their future
