Job Description

In this position you will be responsible for the following duties: Under the guidance of a VR Counselor, you will provide job development, placement and supported employment services for consumers referred directly from the Department of Mental Health's Individual Placement and Support Program (IPS). Provide planning and guidance towards the achievement of successful vocational outcomes. Provide job skills training on the work site to supported employment consumer. Maintain case notes weekly. Perform additional duties as assigned. A bachelor's degree in a related field. Or; a high school diploma and experience in career counseling or related case management may substitute for the required bachelor's degree. Must be able to communicate effectively. Must be able to travel throughout the day to assist consumers while at work. Must be able to work in various work environments and on a flex schedule to meet consumers needs. Knowledge and skill in conducting needs assessments. Knowledge of fact gathering methods and interviewing techniques. Knowledge of community resources. Knowledge of principles of behavior adjustment techniques.
