Lead efforts to prepare students for success in the workplace and in society by fostering opportunities for personal growth and the development of leadership capabilities to supplement classroom instruction in an atmosphere of trust, support and learning.
Essential Functions:
Build and maintain successful relationships with CTSO partners at the district, regional, state and national level ensuring that our students and advisors benefit from participation in CTSOs. Serve as a liaison between Tulsa Tech Advisors and state/national advisors.
Work with faculty and administrative advisory committees to update/create and disseminate information through internal documents and communication methods. This may include the CTSO Advisor Handbook, CTSO Hub site, calendar, district CTSO Newsletters, and other CTSO marketing materials.
Coordinate with campus staff in the Student Advisory Group selection process. Assist campus with facilitating Student Advisory Group meetings.
Promote the benefits of membership and participation in all Tulsa Tech approved CTSOs and professional organizations (BPA, DECA, FCCLA, HOSA, OSRT, SkillsUSA, and OSRT).
Serve as CTSO student advisor at local and out-of-state CTSO events at nights and weekends as required.
Coordinate arrangements for CTSO activities including travel, registration, hotel assignments, etc. for students, advisors and administration.? Must meet very quickly, stringent deadlines to ensure student participation in conferences, competitions and other activities.
Communicate with partner school leadership teams to provide CTSO contest information and outcomes, including but not limited to names of students involved in CTSO, dates of competitions and names of CTSO contest winners.
Oversee assigned area(s) of the department budget and monitor variances to ensure the budget maintains a positive balance in accordance with applicable laws and district regulations.
Coordinate with the District Finance Office, Human Resources and Campus Administration to ensure the process for requisitions for purchase orders, travel and mileage requests and Special Pay Requests are requested and/or submitted in a timely manner and in accordance with District Policy and Procedures.
Track and analyze data relating to CTSO. Prepare and submit timely and accurate reports/documents as required by the school district, the Board of Education, and the Oklahoma Department of Career & Technology Education (ODCTE).
Perform all other duties as may be assigned by management from time to time.
Job Requirements:
A minimum of three years' experience working with students and faculty within a co-curricular role or equivalent related experience.
Familiarity with a variety of learning styles and teaching/counseling methodologies to effectively motivate and communicate with the diversity of students is also required.
Experience in leadership skills development training would be helpful.
Valid State Issued Driver's License.
Bilingual is a plus.
