Harm Reduction Coordinator STATUS:
Full-time, hourly, non-exemptCOMPENSATION
$21.00 - $23.00 per hourNote:
Compensation based on factors including job duties, education and licensure levels, experience, position autonomy, and supervisory responsibilities. Choice Health Network (CHN)'s Harm Reduction Coordinator will work across the organization to provide safer use supplies, personal care items, pantry items, health education, and assistance with referrals. Overdose prevention education and naloxone will be given to all clients as requested. The Coordinator will travel across the region to provide services at CHN's SSP sites. All services will be conducted utilizing a harm reduction approach that supports the client in their own goals around safer sex and substance use.RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
(including but subject to change):- Provide direct service for clients: syringe access, naloxone access and overdose prevention education.
- Provide one-on-one counseling sessions as appropriate with clients.
- Navigate to internal services, case management support, and treatment team collaboration as needed with clients engaged in other CHN programming.
- Present on programming, counseling, and interventions at local, regional, and state level.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- The ability to effectively communicate as part of a team, as well as work independently.
- Open-minded and comfortable providing services through a harm reduction framework.
- Computer and technology literate (comfortable with regular Word and Excel use).
- Ability to concisely document client interactions and coordinate care with an electronic medical record system.
- Must be able to move 50 lb boxes
- Must be comfortable with driving large cargo vans
- Ability to follow state and federal regulations to protect the privacy of all clients.
- Ability to set firm boundaries and practice assertive communication.
- Ability to work with personnel across the organization including social workers, medical providers, and administrative staff.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in a social services field
- Experience providing harm reduction services preferred
- People with lived experience encouraged to apply
- Valid driver's license
