This position serves as a bridge between students, employers, and the school by providing career coaching, job placement assistance, employer outreach, and employment tracking. The specialist works to maximize graduate employment outcomes while maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with all school and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities Student Career Development
- Provide individualized and group career coaching to students and graduates.
- Assist students with resume writing, cover letters, job applications, and professional profiles.
- Conduct mock interviews and provide interview preparation and feedback.
- Teach job search strategies, networking techniques, and professional workplace expectations.
- Help students identify employment opportunities aligned with their training and career goals. Employer Relations & Business Development
- Develop and maintain relationships with employers in industries related to the school's training programs.
- Conduct outreach to local businesses, healthcare facilities, trades employers, and other industry partners to identify hiring opportunities.
- Coordinate employer visits, hiring events, job fairs, and recruitment activities.
- Serve as the primary point of contact between employers and graduates seeking employment.
- Promote the school's graduates and training programs to potential employers. Job Placement & Follow-Up
- Match qualified graduates with appropriate employment opportunities.
- Monitor graduate employment status and provide ongoing support during the job search process.
- Follow up with graduates and employers regarding employment outcomes.
- Encourage and support graduates in obtaining employment in their field of study.
- Work toward achieving the school's internal job placement goals and performance metrics. Data Management & Compliance
- Maintain accurate, timely, and complete records of graduate employment activities and outcomes.
- Document student interactions, employer contacts, placement efforts, and follow-up activities.
- Prepare reports related to employment outcomes, placement rates, and career services activities.
- Ensure compliance with accreditation, state, and institutional reporting requirements.
- Maintain confidentiality of student and employer information. Qualifications Required
- Associate degree or equivalent professional experience in career services, workforce development, education, human resources, recruiting, or a related field.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including excellent grammar.
- Experience with resume development, interview coaching, or employment services.
- Excellent organizational and recordkeeping abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and database or student information systems.
- Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with employers and community partners. Preferred
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Experience working with adult learners, vocational schools, workforce development programs, or postsecondary education.
- Experience in recruiting, staffing, human resources, or employment placement.

- Ability to work in a school office environment and conduct occasional local employer visits.
- Ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and electronically.
- Evening and Saturday participation in classes, career fairs, employer events, or student activities may be required.
The schedule can be flexible, though some evenings and Saturdays are included.
