Exempt Position Purpose Provide program coordination for the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) and assist with all MTSS procedures District-wide in alignment with the district's Strategic Plan and commitment to academic excellence. Use the multi-tiered model to ensure comprehensive implementation that includes academic and behavioral interventions and strategies.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Leads the coordination of MTSS procedures across the district, including communication with campus teams, development and delivery of training for school staff, dissemination of MTSS resources, guidance for school-based implementation processes, and use of data to ensure consistency, fidelity, and effectiveness. Works collaboratively with Executive Directors and the Curriculum and Instruction Department in the implementation of MTSS processes and procedures districtwide. Provides training and guidance to administrators, teachers, and central office staff on MTSS practices, documentation expectations, and the relationship between MTSS and applicable state and federal requirements, including IDEA and Section 504. Guides campuses in using screening, progress monitoring, and other MTSS data to identify students in need of targeted or intensive support and to monitor the effectiveness of interventions. Monitors changes in state and federal guidance affecting MTSS implementation and coordinates professional learning and communication to ensure ongoing compliance and alignment across the district. Participates in the Results-Driven Accountability (RDA) work group to review and monitor data and determine root causes of disproportionality in student discipline. Collaborates with the RDA work group to develop and provide training in classroom management, MTSS processes, and behavior interventions. Coordinates districtwide systems for Tier 2 and Tier 3 progress monitoring, ensuring campuses implement progress monitoring with fidelity and maintain accurate, timely documentation. Leads the development, maintenance, and use of MTSS data dashboards to monitor academic, behavioral, and compliance metrics across campuses and at the district level. Ensures alignment of MTSS interventions with the district's Instructional Framework and Instructional Planning Calendars (IPC) so intervention practices support core instructional priorities. Coordinates implementation of HB 1416 accelerated instruction requirements, including intervention structures, student grouping expectations, and documentation of parent notification. Oversees campus MTSS documentation review processes to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with district, state, and federal requirements. Coordinates the integration of PBIS and restorative practices within the MTSS framework, ensuring consistent implementation of Tier 1 behavioral expectations and Tier 2 and Tier 3 supports. Develops, standardizes, and disseminates MTSS tools and resources, including behavioral flowcharts, checklists, and intervention menus, for teachers and administrators. Provides coaching and support to principals and campus leaders on facilitating effective MTSS meetings, using data to guide decisions, and ensuring accountability for intervention fidelity. Coordinates cross-departmental collaboration to embed MTSS practices within broader district. Ensures MTSS implementation supports and advances FWISD's Strategic Plan priorities. Leads continuous improvement efforts by analyzing MTSS data, identifying implementation needs, and providing actionable recommendations to campus and district leadership. Safety Performs preventive maintenance on tools and equipment and ensures equipment is in safe operating condition. Follows established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties, including lifting and climbing; operates tools and equipment according to established safety procedures. Corrects unsafe conditions in the work area and promptly reports any conditions that are not immediately correctable to the supervisor. Supervisory Responsibilities Selects, trains, supervises, and evaluates staff, and makes recommendations relative to assignment, retention, discipline, and dismissal. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge of the Multi-Tiered System of Supports model and implementation of an MTSS model in school settings. Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education, as well as District policies and procedures. Knowledge of academic and behavior interventions to support high-quality instruction for all students and to meet students' individual needs. Skill in using measurement tools for various levels of assessment, including adaptive and curriculum-based measurement. Skill in program management, evaluation, program planning, program development, and implementation. Skill in coordinating, planning, organizing, and facilitating staff development. Ability to work effectively in collaborative teams, including teams from other departments. Ability to present information in one-on-one, small group, and large group situations to teachers, administrators, and District staff. Ability to use software to access databases, email, create spreadsheets, and do word processing. Ability to organize and coordinate work. Ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written forms. Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work. Travel Requirements Travels to school district buildings and professional meetings as required.

Minimum Required Qualifications Education:
o Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required; o Master's degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
Certification/License:
o Valid Texas Teacher Certificate.
Experience:
o At least 3 years of teaching in multiple grade levels (PK-12) required. o Experience with a diverse student population, especially in a large multicultural urban district preferred. o Demonstrated experience leading MTSS implementation preferred. o Advanced knowledge of data-based decision-making, intervention systems, and compliance requirements. o Proven ability to coach adult learners and influence implementation. o Experience with creating and presenting professional development and developing curriculum.
