PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Conduct home visits to parents in the Irving ISD community to instruct on and role play
HIPPY US
curriculum. Curriculum coaching consists of literacy, math, science, language and motor activities.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS & PROVISIONS
Position is subject to the IISD Home Instruction requirements. Academic Extension Home Instructors are required to follow the Home Visitation program implementation, weekly Role play training, and professional development requirements as directed by Coordinator Possess a valid Texas Class C driver's license and proof of insurance Ability to work a flexible schedule Must have reliable transportation
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Education:
High School Diploma, GED Early childhood knowledge (preferred but not required) Special Knowledge/Skills Excellent oral expression, reading, and writing ability Demonstrated leadership skills Effective content delivery methods Excellent organizational skills Be comfortable visiting homes in the community Ability to work collaboratively in group settings Strong conflict-resolution skills Current or previous HIPPY parent (preferred) Bilingual preferred (Spanish or other languages)

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Participates in weekly staff development as required by the HIPPY US, Texas HIPPY, and Irving ISD for the purpose of personal and professional growth. Conducts enrollment for prospective students and returning students. Administers assessments and screenings such as bracken, PII, ASQ's, PFS, Edinburg Depression Screening, and Domestic Violence Screening. Schedules appointments with assigned families and records contact information into web-based data tracking system. Organizes curriculum and supplies for each individual family assigned by coordinator. Meets with assigned HIPPY parents on a weekly basis, in the home or campus. Home instructor will use role-play as a technique to teach curriculum packets to parents. Collaborates with parents to create individual goals for parents and students, modifies curriculum based on student goals (A+). Assists with identifying, recruiting and maintaining an appropriate caseload of families for the HIPPY Program. Participates in weekly training professional development with administrators. Maintains and updates HIPPY family files and enter information on to the web-based data tracking system (Visit Tracker). Enters and updates home visit, parent meeting, and field trip attendance into web-based data tracking (Visit Tracker) Meets with Testing Facilitator & Data Analyst to analyze visit tracker reports regarding curriculum delivery, resources provided, attendance, assessment results, and home visit contact information. Participate in all program and district activities (i.e. Field trips, End of Year celebrations, Recruitment events, TEXAS HIPPY Kick Off), etc.). Assists in the supervision of children, preparation, and clean up after monthly parent meetings as assigned by administrators. Collaborates with HIPPY administrators and Parent Engagement Coordinators to identify methods to increase parent involvement. Refer appropriate families in need of information/assistance to the HIPPY Coordinator/Specialist for evaluation and social services referrals as needed. Prepares and submits monthly mileage reimbursement reports Maintains confidentiality of information received from parents, administrators, and other campus personnel. Performs office responsibilities and other duties as requested by administrators.

Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written). Maintain emotional control and exercise reasoning and problem-solving skills while under stress. Must work on multiple projects simultaneously while still meeting deadlines. Work within tight deadlines. Occasional in-district and out of district travel. Once a year out of state travel as may require HIPPY International. Occasional prolonged and irregular hours. Carry up to 10 LBS.
